Operation Smile Gala: Stars to Shine for Global Mission
Operation Smile is preparing for its highly anticipated annual gala in New York City, set to take place on Wednesday evening at Sony Hall in Times Square. The event aims to raise crucial funds for the organization's global mission, which focuses on providing life-changing surgeries and healthcare, with a particular emphasis on cleft lip and palate repair. More than 400 guests are expected to attend, with model, influencer, and Prakti Beauty founder Pritika Swarup serving as the evening's host.
Honoring Philanthropy and Advocacy
The gala will recognize several individuals and families for their outstanding contributions to both philanthropy and advocacy in support of Operation Smile's work:
- Mira Sorvino, Academy Award-winning actress, will be honored with the Universal Smile Award for her tireless advocacy and commitment to the organization's mission.
- MrBeast (Jimmy Donaldson), the renowned internet personality, will receive the Cotto Changemaker Award in recognition of his ongoing dedication to supporting Operation Smile's initiatives and global outreach.
- The Cotto Family will be presented with the Founders Circle Award, a tribute to their multi-generational commitment to philanthropy and their long-standing support of Operation Smile's work.
- Viet Hoang, a dedicated philanthropist, will be honored with the Wallis Annenberg Public Service Award for his significant contributions in raising funds for surgical care that has transformed countless lives.
An Evening of Entertainment and Impact
In addition to the awards ceremony, the gala promises a memorable night of entertainment and giving. This year's event will feature a speakeasy-inspired theme with big band swing music and Broadway-inspired performances. Among the performers will be actor and singer Zachary Levi, as well as Carmit Bachar, Jessica Lee Goldyn, and Byrdie Wilson. The evening will also include a special performance by the Voodoo Orchestra X from Caleb Chapman's Soundhouse, adding to the lively atmosphere.
Guests will enjoy a curated dinner, along with a tequila and gin speakeasy bar sponsored by Teremana Tequila and Himbrimi Pure Icelandic Gin, as well as a bubbly-filled room sponsored by Freixenet. The festivities will also include a silent auction featuring exclusive items and Roaring Twenties-themed dancing to further enhance the celebratory mood.
