Lucid Air and Gravity Adds Tesla Supercharger Access

Lucid Air and Gravity Adds Tesla Supercharger Access

Lucid Motors is rolling out significant updates, including long-awaited access to the Tesla Supercharger network for both the Air sedan and the upcoming Gravity SUV. This move aims to enhance convenience and charging accessibility for Lucid owners.

Here's how it breaks down:

  • Supercharger Access: Lucid Air drivers will require a Lucid-approved adapter, priced at $220, to connect to Tesla Superchargers due to the Air's existing J1772-CCS charge port. Unfortunately, the Air will initially be capped at a 50-kW charge rate when using the adapter. The Gravity SUV, equipped with the NACS charge port used by Tesla, won't require an adapter and will benefit from the full charging speeds offered by Superchargers.
  • Payment Convenience: Lucid owners can activate Tesla Superchargers via the Lucid App, using a credit card stored in their Lucid Wallet.

Lucid is also standardizing its Mobile Charging Cable Kit across all models. This kit includes:

  • A 40-amp charging cable compatible with a 240-volt NEMA 14-50 outlet for charging up to 9.6 kW.
  • A NEMA 5-15 adapter for standard 120-volt outlets, providing approximately 1.4 kW charge rate.

Enhanced 2026 Air Models

The 2026 Lucid Air is receiving a series of enhancements, starting with the Touring trim:

  • Extended Range: The Touring trim gains a six percent increase in EPA-estimated driving range, thanks to new high-density battery cells.
  • Faster Charging: The updated battery technology also enables a faster 250 kW charging capability. The 2026 Air Touring boasts an impressive 431-mile range.
  • The Air Grand Touring maintains its existing 512-mile range.

Other key updates include:

  • Air Pure: The 2026 Air Pure will feature a Mojave PurLuxe interior, offering both standard 12-way powered and heated front seats and optional 20-way powered, heated, ventilated front seats with massage functions. It will also get rear center console display and storage bin, and comes standard with DreamDrive Premium.
  • Air Touring: The Air Touring receives new standard 19-inch Aero Range wheels, with optional 19-inch Aeronaut wheels. A 20-inch Aero Lite wheel option will also be available, paired with Michelin Pilot Sport performance tires.
  • Air Grand Touring: The 2026 Air Grand Touring now comes standard with 20-way powered front seats with memory, including heating, ventilation, and massage functions.
